How to Get a Dachshund Puppy from My Little Dachshund Heaven
At Hart Way LLC dba My Little Dachshund Heaven, bringing a puppy into your life is not just a transaction—it’s a relationship built on trust, preparation, and shared values.
I use the term “Transfer of Ownership” instead of “adoption” or “sale” because these puppies are thoughtfully raised and intentionally placed. This page walks you through each step of the process, so you know exactly what to expect from the moment you express interest until your puppy is settled safely in your home.

Join the Notification List
If you’re interested in a future puppy, the first step is to join my Puppy Notification List.

From this list, you’ll receive:
-
Pregnancy confirmations (when applicable)
-
Birth announcements
-
Litter themes and puppy updates
-
Information on when selection will open
-

This is not a paid waitlist and does not require a deposit. It simply ensures you don’t miss important updates if you’re seriously considering a puppy in the near future.

Watch the Puppies Grow
Once puppies arrive, I share regular updates so you can watch them grow and see personalities begin to emerge.
You’ll see:
-
Photos and short videos on Facebook page, Instagram, and this website.
-
Temperament notes as they develop
-
Coat and pattern updates as they become clearer
-
Occasional “milestone” moments
Updates are shared through:
-
The Puppy Portal
-
The Current Puppies page
-
Social media posts when time allows
This helps you get to know the litter before it’s time to choose.

Selection Order & Puppy Choice
Puppy selection typically happens once puppies are old enough for their structure, coat, and personalities to be more accurately evaluated—usually between 4–5 weeks of age.
Selection order is determined by:
-
My program’s established rules
-
Any puppies retained by me for the program
-
The sequence in which committed families are ready and approved

💜 Important: I do not accept extra money to move a family ahead in line or “claim” a specific puppy early. This is unethical and unfair to others. Every family is treated equally within the process described.

-
Deposits are non-refundable but applied as a boarding fee
-
No paying extra to move ahead of others
-

Pricing, Deposits & Boundaries
Prices are Not Negotiable
💜 My pricing reflects:
-
genetic testing
-
veterinary care
-
nutrition & supplement program
-
daily enrichment
-
housing
-
cleanliness and safety
-
hands-on care and socialization.
Please do not ask for a lower price, discount, special exception, or “deal.” Prices are set and are not negotiable.
Sales Tax Is Required — No Exceptions
As a licensed Pennsylvania kennel and business, I am legally required to charge 6% PA sales tax on the taxable portion of each sale.
It does not matter whether you pay:
-
cash
-
card
-
Venmo
-
PayPal
-
or any other method
Sales tax still applies.
I cannot — and will not — waive taxes. It is illegal in the state of Pennsylvania.
No “Paying Extra to Skip the Line
Do not offer more money to:
-
move ahead of other families
-
secure a specific puppy early
-
change your position on the list
-
“reserve” a puppy outside of the established process
This is unethical, unfair, and not something I will ever allow in my program.
All families receive equal and consistent opportunities based on the placement rules I use for every litter.
Why My Prices Are What They Are
💜 For anyone who feels my pricing is high, I openly welcome transparency.

I can show real costs that go directly back into my dogs, including:
-
full genetic testing for every breeding dog
-
veterinary care (routine + emergency)
-
high-quality food, supplements, and wellness products
-
whelping supplies, cleaning products, equipment
-
housing, heat sources, sanitation, bedding, enrichment
Ethical, responsible breeding is extremely expensive.
In many cases, I do not “profit” from a litter — I reinvest into care, quality, and health.
